Authorities investigate death of Arkansas couple

STUTTGART (AP) - Authorities in Arkansas County are investigating a double shooting that left a husband and wife dead.

Sheriff Allen Cheek says the shooting was reported at a home near Stuttgart on Wednesday night. Cheek says the husband and wife each had a single gunshot wound and were pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff tells the Stuttgart Daily Leader that the bodies have been sent to the Arkansas Crime Laboratory for autopsies.

Authorities identified those killed as 46-year-old Thomas DePriest and 45-year-old Debbie DePriest.

Cheek says the investigation into the deaths is ongoing but says authorities do not believe robbery was involved.
