Aircraft cabinet business expanding in Sherwood

Posted: Updated:

SHERWOOD, Ark. (AP) - A business in Sherwood that makes cabinetry for private aircraft is opening an expanded facility and adding 150 new jobs.

Custom Aircraft Cabinets spent $6 million on the new facility that is opening Wednesday.

The company supplies cabinetry for private jets and says it expects to employ more than 290 people within two years when it reaches full production.

Custom Aircraft Cabinets started in North Little Rock in 1989 and moved to Sherwood to accommodate the expansion.

The aerospace sector is Arkansas' largest source of exports. In 2011, the industry exported $486 million in aerospace products.
