Fire out at White Hall plant

Posted: Updated:

WHITE HALL (KATV) - Investigators are looking into what started a factory fire near White Hall Monday.

The fire started in the plating area in the very back of the Arcelor Mittal plant. About 320 employees work there and all of them got out safely. At last check, officials didn't know the full extent of the damage but did say that because of the location of the fire, they do expect the plant to stop production.

No word yet what started the fire but employees said there were welders working in the area at the time. The Arcelor Mittal plant makes metals for steel belted tires.
