FAYETTEVILLE (AP) - Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn considers his team's high preseason rankings a sign of respect.
Now the 11th-year Razorbacks coach hopes his team is ready to deliver on its early expectations.
Arkansas was 46-22 last season, finishing one win away from playing for the national championship at last season's College World Series. It was the third trip to Omaha in 10 seasons for Van Horn with the Razorbacks, who enter this season No. 1 in several polls.
Arkansas had 1 of the top pitching staffs in the country last season, and it returns much of that group this season - led by ace Ryan Stanek, who was 8-4 with a 2.82 ERA in 17 starts last season.
