The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported six more influenza-blamed deaths Thursday morning.

The department says Oklahoma has seen a total of 14 deaths and 611 hospitalizations since Sept. 30. That includes the 16 hospitalizations recorded between Jan. 16 and Thursday.

The number of hospitalizations has already surpassed last year's total of 316.

In Tulsa County, the department reported 188 hospitalizations; the highest number of hospitalizations for this flu season.

Tulsa County also recorded three flu deaths, while Creek, Mayes, Muskogee, and Rogers counties each had one. Pittsburg county's number was at two.

The flu season is considered to be the months of September through May.
