Assistant General Manager David Longinotti said in a news release Tuesday that the damage appeared worse than it was and that Oaklawn will reopen Thursday.
Thursday's races will mark the first of 5 straight racing days that will end Monday with the $150,000 Smarty Jones Stakes. Post times are 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Sunday and 1 p.m. on Saturday and Monday.
The weekend rains forced officials to call off racing on Saturday and Sunday - but plans are to make up the running of Saturday's $60,000 Dixie Belle stakes on Jan. 20.
