CATOOSA, Okla. -

A high-speed chase ended with the quick action of a Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper just before a school zone in Catoosa, Friday, Jan. 11.

According to OHP, a red Dodge Stratus with two males and a juvenile female was driving at high speeds approaching an intersection near Catoosa High School.

The vehicle was approaching a school zone at speeds between 60-80 mph, where students had just been let out of classes.

A 15-year OHP veteran performed a pit maneuver, which caused the vehicle to spin and stop.

According to OHP spokesperson Lt. George Brown, the trooper's action potentially saved lives and he is a hero because of it.

There were no injuries and all three of the vehicle's occupants are in custody.
