Hempstead Co. authorities perplexed by missing men
HOPE, Ark. (AP) - Hempstead County Sheriff James Singleton says the disappearance of 2 men last year remains a mystery.
The sheriff says 58-year-old Joseph Cowart of Hope was last seen on May 15. Casey Clark of Fulton has not been seen since March 27.
Singleton says the men didn't know each other and it's not known if their disappearances are related. The sheriff tells the Texarkana Gazette (http://is.gd/nPRMY3 ) that there's been no activity on either man's bank account or phone records.
Singleton calls the disappearances "an old-fashioned mystery."
Cowart was reported missing by an uncle. Authorities say his house was locked and his pickup truck was parked under the carport.
Clark's car was found at a Fulton liquor store and authorities say he left his wallet at a friend's apartment.
