Benton police find illegal gaming at five businesses

BENTON (KATV) - Police served search warrants at five businesses Wednesday for illegal gaming activity.

Investigators said Lance's Convenience Store on Edison Avenue, Bullock's Superstop on I-30, Phillips 66 on I-30, Jimmy's Superstop on Edison Avenue and Texaco EZ GO on Highway 5 North were giving gasoline and merchandise of significant value to their customers as "prizes" for slot style machines.

Owners of all five businesses were given citations for keeping a gaming device and the machines were taken away as evidence.

Lt. Kevin Russell said in a press release that the investigation was ongoing and more businesses could still be cited. anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call police at (501) 778-1171 or 315-TIPS.
