CONWAY (Log Cabin Democrat) - La Venia Billings, wife of the late Larry Billings, announced Monday a
fundraiser to benefit a reward pool for information leading to the
arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for her
husband's death.
Billings, 60, was the longtime owner of Conway Roller Rink. He was
found dead in his home on Canterberry Gap Road Oct. 29, having suffered a
single gunshot wound to the head.
Officials say there were no signs of struggle or forced entry to the
home and no weapon was located at the scene. Authorities have declined
comment on the type or caliber of firearm used in the shooting. A Nissan
Titan taken from the home the day of the incident was located in
November in the parking lot of a West Little Rock Kroger store.
The fundraiser will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 at the Conway Roller Rink on East Oak Street. A $10 donation will include admittance to the Zumba-themed event, and
will include a workout to "hypnotic musical rhythms ... to create a
dynamic workout that is fun and easy."
