WEST MEMPHIS (Evening Times) - Sentencing for four men who have pleaded guilty to a conspiracy
to commit election fraud has been postponed by U.S. District Judge
Kristine Baker.
Sentencing had been set for Friday for former
State Rep. Hudson Hallum, his father, Marion car dealer Kent Hallum, former West Memphis City
Councilman Phillip Carter and former West Memphis police officer Sam Malone. Carter and Malone worked on Hallum's campaign.
All four men acknowledged in court that they participated in a conspiracy to
bribe voters to influence absentee votes in the Arkansas District 54
primary, runoff and general elections in 2011.
