Construction Begins on Bridge Deck Replacement Project

Construction on an I-244 bridge deck replacement project began Tuesday morning in southwest Tulsa.

The $1.5 million project is for the bridge over 33rd W. Ave. in Tulsa. This is located just north of the western I-244/I-44 split in Tulsa.

According to the release, construction crews will begin narrowing east and westbound I-244 to one open lane in each direction at 33rd W. Avenue.

The work on bridge is expected to take approximately six months to complete.

Drivers should plan ahead for extra travel time in this corridor. Future lane changes will be posted in the daily Traffic Advisories section of www.okladot.state.ok.us.
