THIBODAUX, La. — University of Central Arkansas senior forward Megan Herbert helped the Sugar Bears give Nicholls State a healthy dose of revenge Thursday night.
Herbert notched her 71st career double-double with a season-high 33 points and 11 rebounds and hit eight free throws to give her 554 for her career to break the Southland career record held by UTSA's Angel Singleton since 1998.
It powered the Sugar Bears to a 72-56 victory over the Colonels, who upset the UCA women in the first round of last year's Southland Conference tournament and entered the conference opener with the best nonconference record in the league.
