
JONESBORO (AP) - Brandon Peterson had 15 points and nine rebounds as Arkansas State defeated Middle Tennessee 66-60 in overtime Thursday night.
Marcus Hooten added 14 points for the Red Wolves (9-5, 3-2 Sun Belt), including five straight in overtime that put them ahead for good.
Marcus Knight led Middle Tennessee (11-4, 3-1) with 23 points and nine rebounds. Tweety Knight added 12 points, including a 3-pointer with 1 second left in regulation that sent the game into overtime tied at 52-52.
After the Blue Raiders scored the first two points in the extra period, Hooten hit a 3-pointer and a layup to put Arkansas State ahead 57-54, and Peterson followed with a steal and a dunk to make it a 5-point game with 2:45 remaining. Peterson added another dunk with 27 seconds left and the Red Wolves hit 5 of 8 free throws in the final two minutes to secure the win.
