Status Updates for Jalen Saunders & Stacy McGee - KATV - Breaking News, Weather and Razorback Sports

Oklahoma head football coach Bob Stoops ruled Friday on a couple of his players who have had a run in with the law.

Receiver transfer Jalen Saunders will participate in the Cotton Bowl on January the 4th against Texas A&M.  The day after the season finale at TCU Saunders was arrested for alleged marijuana possession.

Muskogee native and senior defensive end Stacy McGee will not participate.  He didn't even make the trip to Dallas for the Cotton Bowl.  McGee was charges with an alleged DUI earlier this week.

The University of Oklahoma released a statement Friday night.  It reads as follows.

"The information and history in each of the individual matters are unique thus resulting in different participation decisions for this game.

If other disciplinary measures are taken, they will be handled internally in keeping with existing policy. Athletics department and team personnel will have no further comment."

The Sooners arrive in Dallas Saturday, December the 29th to begin their on site preparation for the Cotton Bowl.
