The Oklahoma Department of Health reports a Tulsa County citizen is the first flu-related death of 2012 in the state.
The data was released Thursday on the state's Influenza Activity Summary page.
Tables show that the person who died was between 19 and 65 years old.
Experts say this year's influenza season hit a little earlier than usual. There have been 75 hospitalizations statewide due to the illness, 24 of them in Tulsa County.
