Powerball player in Arkansas Wins 2 Million Dollars

Posted: Updated:

(KATV, Source: ASL) The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery created another millionaire Wednesday night when a lucky Lockesburg Powerball player spent $2 on a ticket, $1 on the PowerPlay, and correctly chose all five white-ball numbers.  Those numbers are 11-13-23-43-54 (Powerball-4).

The ticket was purchased at B & B Junction on Highway 71 North in Lockesburg (Sevier County). The $50 Million Powerball jackpot was hit by a Florida player and the jackpot Friday night will be $40 Million. Prizes from $4 to $2 Million are up for grabs in every Powerball drawing, regardless of the size off the jackpot.

The winning player's identity will not be known until the ticket is cashed. All players who purchased Powerball Millions tickets for this draw at B & B Junction in Lockesburg will want to check their numbers against the winning numbers to see if their ticket is the lucky one.

Prizes can be claimed at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center at 124 West Capitol Avenue in Little Rock. Call ahead to 501-683-2000 to check for weather-related closings.

A prize at this level is won when the player correctly chooses the five white-ball numbers between 1 and 59, but not the Powerball number (between 1 and 35).  The prize is $1,000,000, but this winning player added the $1 PowerPlay, which doubles the prize to $2 Million. That extra dollar earned the winner an extra million dollars!

The next chances to win big are tonight with either the Arkansas-only Natural State Jackpot at $185,000 or Decades of Dollars with a top prize of $250,000 a year for 30 years.  Friday, Mega Millions offers a jackpot of $25 Million, and Saturday is your next chance to win Powerball, like the Lockesburg player, with a top prize off $40 Million.

So how are your chances?  Here is a list of Powerball wins in Arkansas in the last three years and three months:

ONE $2 MILLION winner            $2,000,000

Five $1,000,0000 winners         $5,000,000
Nine $200,0000 winners           $1,800,000
Two $100,000 winners             $   200,000
Ten $50,000 winners                $   500,000
Twenty-two $40,000 winners   $   880,000

Eight $30,000 winners              $   240,000

Nine $20,000 winners               $  180,000

Fifty-six $10,000 winners          $  560,000

An ASL spokesperson says, "That's about $37 Million in life changing prizes. There have been millions and millions of dollars awarded to lower tier Arkansas winners."
