A grandmother raising her
two grandsons alone celebrated her 38th birthday Friday by moving
into her first home.
Habitat for Humanity
presented Kimley Smith with one of the two new houses volunteers and organizers
built on 20th Street in Little Rock.
Kimley is a full time
hairstylist with a good credit score who took in her two grandson a year ago. Before the boys came to her, they were
malnourished, dehydrated and living in an unstable home but today are running
around happily as little boys do.
Kimley has always wanted a
house of her own, but never knew if this day would come.
"I just don't know how to
express the way that I feel. It's awesome. Its overwhelming. You know, I just lay
back and look and think about it," said Kimley.
