BAXTER COUNTY (KATV) - A level four sex offender was arrested Friday morning for failing to register.

Donald Lafayette Raney, 53, was arrested around 9:30 a.m. when deputies found he had not been living at his reported residence since December 6.

Arkansas defines a level four sex offender as a sexually violent predator. Raney was convicted in April 2002 for sexual battery in Indiana against a 38-year-old woman. He has also been convicted of terroristic threatening, carrying a knife, burglary, criminal trespass, sexual misconduct, three counts of assault on a law enforcement officer and driving under the influence.

Ronald is being held in lieu of $15,000 bond until his next hearing in Baxter County Circuit Court on December 27.
