Recycle Your Christmas Tree

Posted: Updated:

Once Christmas is past, you can recycle your live tree by donating it to Greers Ferry Lake.

Donated trees will be used to create fish habitat in the lake by tying them together to make bundles.

The trees can be dropped off December 26th – January 14th at the Sandy Beach boat ramp in Heber Springs, Devils Fork Park boat ramp at the Greers Ferry/Fairfield Bay area, or Choctaw boat ramp in the Clinton area.

It you're taking your live tree to be recycled, make sure you've taken all the tinsel and ornaments off – no artificial trees will be accepted.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers also urges local businesses that have leftover trees to drop them off as well.

For more information call the Greers Ferry Project at 501-362-2416.
