Saline County prays for Newtown victims

Posted: Updated:

SALINE COUNTY (KATV) - Four days after the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, some Saline County residents take time to remember the victims.

Dozens prayed outside the Saline County courthouse as speakers mourned the loss of the elementary school shooting victims more than 1,000 miles away.

The attendees used the vigil to honor the lives lost, and also reflect on the moments with their own children that they may take for granted every day.

"Rushing and sending my child out the front door without a proper goodbye, ‘I love you, have a good day'," said Kendra Turbyfill, who attended the vigil with her young daughter, "and for something like that to happen, I would never be able to forgive myself."
