Posted: Updated:

MARSHALL (Log Cabin Democrat) - Family and friends are mourning the loss of a 2nd grader who was killed in a four-wheeler accident.

Monday morning, parents at Woodrow Cummins Elementary met to pray for those close to 8-year-old Madelyn Grace Johnston of Conway.

Searcy County Chief Deputy Dewayne Pierce says the accident happened Saturday about a mile off Arkansas 65 in Marshall.

Few details have been released, but Pierce says it appears to be "an unfortunate, tragic accident." The ATV's driver and another passenger suffered minor injuries in the wreck.

Madelyn was a second-grade student at Woodrow Cummins Elementary School in Conway.
