Weekend apartment fire in LR still under investigation

Posted: Updated:

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - An apartment fire early Saturday morning caused $50,000 in damages, but investigators still aren't sure what started it.

Capt. Hickmon with the Little Rock Fire Department told Channel 7 in a phone interview that firefighters were first called to the Barrington Hills apartment complex on Reservoir Road just before 5:00 a.m. It took three hours to put out the blaze in apartment 246.

The unit immediately below apartment 246 suffered water damage. No other apartments were damaged and no one was hurt.

The Red Cross was able to find temporary housing for the families affected.

At the time of the fire, investigators said the blaze did not seem suspicious.
