LITTLE ROCK (AP) - The Little Rock School District is reviewing its security plans after the deadly school shooting in Connecticut.

In a letter sent to parents Sunday, Superintendent Morris Holmes says the district has reviewed its written emergency plans that deal with armed intruders. Holmes says he also asked all school principals to ensure that building entrances are monitored as students returned to school Monday.

Twenty children and six adults were killed in Friday's shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

Holmes says the 24,000-student district in Little Rock has more than 120 security officers and 1,700 security cameras at its schools.

Holmes says school counselors are on hand to answer any questions and concerns from students.
