FAYETTEVILLE (AP) - Arkansas coach Bret Bielema has chosen former Wisconsin assistant Charlie Partridge as defensive line coach.
In making the announcement on Saturday, Bielema says Partridge has a strong recruiting background in Florida, which fits with Bielema's plan to expand Arkansas' recruiting base.
Bielema left Wisconsin last week after seven years to lead the Razorbacks. He and Partridge coached the Badgers together for five years, a span which included three consecutive trips to the Rose Bowl.
Before last season, Partridge was promoted to Wisconsin associate head coach, co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach.
Bielema has hired Chris Ash from Wisconsin as defensive coordinator. From Tennessee, Bielema hired Jim Chaney as offensive coordinator, and offensive line coach Sam Pittman.
Partridge is remaining with Wisconsin through its appearance in the Rose Bowl against Stanford.
