Wedding Ring Dropped Into Enid Red Kettle

Posted: Updated:

It's usually pocket change dropped into Salvation Army red kettles, but volunteers in Enid made a surprising discovery.

A donor dropped a wedding ring into one of the kettles.

The question remains, was it an actual donation or a mistake?

That's what the Salvation Army is trying to find out.

Major John Dancer with The Enid Salvation Army says, "We've had some coins that sometimes were worth $30 to $50 but I think this is the most expensive thing we have ever found in the kettles."

As a precaution, the Salvation Army won't say what the ring looks like or where it was dropped off.

If it's not claimed in 90 days, the ring will be accepted as a donation.
