Tulsa Now Home To Oklahoma's Only Arson Dog

Posted: Updated:

"Show me. Show me. That's a good boy. That's a good boy!"

Tulsa arson investigators have a new tool in solving crimes. And he gives good wet kisses too!

Canyon is the only canine in Oklahoma that can sniff-out accelerants.

He'll be used in several communities throughout Green Country and by the ATF.

His handler, Scott Winford just returned from six weeks of training in Virginia.

"He's basically just trained to associate the scent of many ignitable liquids with food."

We're told, Canyon goes home with Scott every night. But, he does not sleep on the bed.

Canyon originally trained as a guide dog for the blind. But because of his inquisitive nature, he was given a "career change".
