Arkansas to receive $945K in Pfizer settlement

Posted:

LITTLE ROCK (AP) - Arkansas' attorney general says the state will receive more than $945,000 in a settlement with Pfizer Inc. over the pharmaceutical company's marketing of the drugs Zyvox and Lyrica.

Attorney General Dustin McDaniel said Wednesday that he and 33 other attorneys general reached a $42.9 million settlement with Pfizer.

The states allege in the settlement that Pfizer used unfair and deceptive practices in promoting Zyvox, an antibacterial agent, and Lyrica, which is used to treat fibromyalgia.

McDaniel filed a consent judgment in Pulaski County Circuit Court on Wednesday to settle the claims against Pfizer.

Under the settlement, Pfizer is not admitting wrongdoing but says it will reform how it markets Zyvox and Lyrica.
