Cherokee Casino Fort Gibson Opens Tuesday

Residents in Green Country will have a new spot to take a chance with Lady Luck.   The Cherokee Casino Fort Gibson opens Tuesday.

Officials will hold a grand opening ceremony at 1 p.m.   The new casino adds almost 80 jobs to the community.  The Cherokee Nation's economic impact on Muskogee County is $47.5 million.  

The property employed only 12 people when it opened in March 2003. Today, it provides jobs to 150 people in the Fort Gibson and Muskogee areas.  The new Cherokee Casino Fort Gibson encompasses 28,000 square feet, quadruple the size of the existing facility.
