Police are investigating a shooting incident out of Owasso that left a 38-year-old man dead Sunday afternoon.

Owasso Police Department said it happened just after 4:30 p.m. when officers responded to a shots fired call near the area of 115th St. East and 110 St. North.

Upon their arrival, they found the homeowner had shot Edward Templeton after he reportedly attempted to make entry into his residence, according to the police release.

Deputy Chief Scott Chambless said an initial investigation revealed that the homeowner and Templeton were acquaintances and had been involved in a verbal and physical altercation prior to the shooting incident.

While no arrests have been made, OPD are currently investigating the incident and submitting it to the Tulsa County District Attorney's Office who will make the final determination as to whether or not charges will be filed.
