LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Stuttgart quarterback Dontrell Brown ran for 219 yards on 30 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead the Ricebirds to a 28-7 victory over Ozark in the Class 4A state championship game Saturday night.
Brown scored on runs of 3, 1 and 11 yards and also added 58 yards on 5 of 13 passing to win the most valuable player award.
The Ricebirds (13-1) built a 14-0 halftime lead.
Ozark (12-3) scored on Josef Asbeck's 14-yard run with 8:37 left in the third, but never got closer than a touchdown.
Brown's third touchdown, with 40 seconds left in the third quarter, brought the lead to 21-7 and a 5-yard scoring run by Dre'Lon Ice helped seal the game.
Ice finished with 101 yards on 10 carries as Stuttgart dominated 409 yards to 119.
Asbeck led Ozark with 44 yards rushing on 11 carries. Brandon Brokeshoulder and Ethan Hawkins each had 13 tackles for Ozark.
