LITTLE ROCK (AP) - Dorian Evans caught a 30-yard deflected pass on the final play to lift Junction City to a 27-26 victory over Bearden in the Arkansas Class 2A championship game Friday night.
With less than a second left, Evans grabbed the pass by Shaquille Hunter to give the Dragons (14-1) their first state title since 2009, and their third in the past five seasons.
Bearden had taken a 26-21 lead with 53 second left on Jasmond Young's 35-yard touchdown run. Young's 2-point conversion attempt was stopped by Hunter a yard short of the goal line.
