T-Town Rundown: What's Happening Around the Tulsa Area Today

Yes, everyone. It is finally Friday. The day of the week that brings forth the weekend. But before you clock out for the day or check out of your responsibilities, how about looking at a list of things happening in the Tulsa area Friday and this weekend?

The following events are just some of those happening Friday with updates posted throughout the morning as we send out crews and reporters to stories we're working on for our evening newscasts.

 

Oklahoma's 2nd District: Congressman-elect Markwayne Mullin will continue his "Listening Tour" Friday as he makes stops in Atoka, McAlester, Eufala and Muskogee.  He'll be a several locations through Friday as he speaks to his constituents. Christmas Lights: Head on over to Broken Arrow for their annual Rhema lights display. Visitors can see the displays at Rhema Baptist Church with two million lights and over 100,000 shimmering bulbs synchronized to Christmas music.

Muskogee: If Broken Arrow isn't your thing, then head to Muskogee's Garden of Lights showcase at Honor Heights Park. With more than 1,000,000 shimmering lights and 120 acres of trees, bushes and water areas decorated, you're bound to be in the Christmas season by the end of it.

Flu season: the Washington County Health Department wants to remind residents that it's that time of the year again. Get your flu shots now and save yourself the trouble later on during National Influenza Vaccination Week.

Performing Arts Center: American Theatre Company's holiday musical returns for its 35th year at the PAC. Beginning 7:30 p.m., attendees can watch Charles Dickens' classic tale of gorgeous costumes and sets, and plenty of seasonal cheer right.

Expo Center: The Tulsa Farm Show is at the QuikTrip Center through Saturday for all those interested. With equipment demos, giveaways and auctions, the show is sure to please any farmer in attendance.

Art, Art and More Art: The Brady District is hosting their First Friday Art Crawl beginning at 6 p.m. Galleries all over the area will be open for visitors to come drop by and see works from local artists.

BOK Center: Winterfest is back on outside of the Center. Take your family and friends and bundle up as you take part in some free entertainment and ice skate if you want, as well!
