He was later transported to St. Johns Hospital for stab wounds to the back of his head and neck.

Also Wednesday, officers with the Mingo Valley Division responded to an alarm around 8:00 p.m. at the Fiesta Mart on E. 21 Street South. There they were told of an attempted burglary by a suspect they later identified as Courtney J. Fletcher, 36.

Officers located Fletcher at the Save A Lot Grocery Store at 2140 S. Sheridan Rd. When an officer approached him, he fled on foot southbound from the location to E. 23 Street.

The suspect was located by officers when he was attempting to get to his vehicle. He was arrested for robbery with a dangerous weapon, first degree robbery, assault and battery on police officer and obstructing a police officer.

Then just after 8:45 p.m., TPD were sent to the area of 2100 E. Seminole St. in reference to a shots fired call.

According to the release, once they arrived at the residence officers discovered that the home had actually been shot multiple times. Four individuals were located inside the home at the time of the incident, including three children.
