(KATV, Source: UAM) The University of Arkansas at Monticello opened in 1909 and it is the smallest of the UA campuses.
According to a UAM press release, $9,000,000 in bonds has been approved for upcoming renovations to the Bankston and Horsfall Hall dormitories on the UAM campus.
The legacy of the school can still be seen in the buildings and dorms. Every semester, Horsfall Hall at the University of Arkansas at Monticello is home to about 124 female students. Bankston Hall houses about 248 male students. Both dorms have been in need of repair. The improvements are expected to be finished by the fall of 2013.
Students tell Channel Seven they're excited the community restroom will be done away with. The buildings will get new roofs, have a more modern look, energy efficient and allow students to have more personal space.
