Not Too Late to Get Vaccinated

Posted: Updated:

The Arkansas Department of Health is urging people to get a flu shot, with a campaign slogan "It's Not Too Late to Vaccinate".

Most people think of getting their shots in the Fall, but with more reports of flu being reported earlier in the southern states, the ADH says it's important more than ever to get vaccinated.

The good news, laboratory samples show that the majority of recent infections are similar to the viruses that the seasonal vaccine protects against.

The ADH says while mass flu clinics have wrapped up for the year, there's still plenty of vaccine available at local health units in each county and a private doctor's offices.

This year the ADH administered more than 61,000 doses of vaccine in 107 mass fu clinics.
