(KATV) Little Rock - Santa and Mrs. Claus kicked of the fifth annual Celebration of Lights
at the Promenade at Chenal. Saturday, all day giveaways include
a new Apple iPad Mini, and at 6 p.m. sharp the lighting of the new 26 foot
musically animated tree. This spectacular 15 minute lighting show sets off
nearly 6,000 lights synchronized to the season's best music each night starting
December 1st through December 31st at 6pm and again at 8pm. It's
unlike anything else in Central Arkansas.
The
Promenade at Chenal has also begun a donation drive for Make-A-Wish Mid-South
during the months of November and December 2012, in an effort to collect $5,000
enough needed to support the wish of a critically-ill child to be granted in
2013. Customers are asked to make monetary donations at any of the
participating Promenade at Chenal merchants or simple drop a coin into one of
the fountains at the shopping center. All proceeds go to benefit the
organization.
Bethany Seims with
the Promenade says, "We have everything set up this year with our decorations, we have
a lot of traffic and a lot of people are hitting up the special deals and we
hope they come out and take a look at what we have going on. We have a lot of
new stores. We've actually opened seven new stores this year."
