A Tulsa specialty clinic wants to help people realize the effects of dementia and Alzheimer's.
Cypress Springs in south Tulsa will host what's called a "virtual dementia tour" Friday from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
Participants will wear headphones and a viewfinder that will simulate the confusion and disability patients face.
"The Virtual Dementia Tour provides the experience of a person living with Alzheimer's or Dementia by wearing specific gear that simulates physical disabilities common in an aging person. Headphones are worn with a "confusion tape" playing in the headset to create the mental confusion that people with Alzheimer's and Dementia experience," a press release states.
Each tour lasts about 15 minutes. Cypress Springs is located at 7210 South Yale Avenue in Tulsa.
