Court Moves Preliminary Hearing for Man Accused of Stabbing Mother

A Tulsa court moved the preliminary hearing for a 20-year-old man on charge of first degree murder after he allegedly stabbed his mother to death.

William Matthew Stick, 20, is set to appear in court Dec. 21 for his preliminary hearing. In addition to the first degree murder charge, he is also facing an assault and battery charge upon an officer.

Back in October, Tulsa Police responded to a woman found wounded on her porch in the 3000 block of E. 24th Street.

There, officers found the suspect's mother, Veronica Stick, with a stab wound and transported her by EMSA to St. John's Hospital. She was later pronounced dead.

Officers found William Stick at the 2900 block of South Peoria a few hours after the victim was discovered.

In the police report, officers noticed an "apparent blood stain" on the accused's jeans.

According to the report, as officers were taking him into custody, William Stick 'kneed' one of the officers and refused to comply with their orders.

Back on Oct. 16, Stick entered a plea of not guilty. He is currently in jail on $5,000 bond for the assault and battery charge.
