Local Organization Gifts New Bikes to Elementary Students

Posted: Updated:

A local organization surprised elementary students with their own bicycles this morning after participating in a school contest.

Bikes for Tykes of Tulsa was at Whitman Elementary School to hand 44 students new bicycles. The children were selected through a coloring contest at the school.

Along with their new bikes ranging from orange to purple in color, children also received helmets to use during their rides around town or in their neighborhoods.

The organization's purpose is to give new bicycles and helmets to deserving children. It purchases the bicycles and assembles them for other organizations in Tulsa for placement in the area.
