BENTONVILLE (AP) - Authorities say a 6-year-old Arkansas girl found dead in a vacant home was suffocated and apparently had been raped.

Bentonville police say in court documents released Wednesday that sperm cells were detected on a vaginal swab taken from Jersey Bridgeman's body.

Zachary Holly, a 28-year-old neighbor, made a preliminary court appearance earlier Wednesday on preliminary charges of capital murder, rape, kidnapping and residential burglary. He was ordered held without bond and has not yet been formally charged.

Jersey's body was found shortly after she was reported missing Nov. 20 in a vacant home adjacent to Holly's and two doors down from where she and her mother lived.

Bentonville is about 215 miles northwest of Little Rock.
