North Little Rock authorities investigate fatal fire

NORTH LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - Police and fire investigators are looking into a fatal fire that happened around 3:20 Wednesday morning in the 4500 block of Gum Street.

Investigators tell Channel 7 News they found a 53-year-old female dead on her bed after crews extinguished the fire. There was also extensive damage to the home.

Authorities believe the fire started in the bedroom. Firefighters say they believe this was an accident but have not ruled on an exact cause for the fire.
