Cardinals Are Chasing A Championship - KATV - Breaking News, Weather and Razorback Sports

The East Central Cardinals have a date in the Class 5A State Championship this weekend.  The Cards will face Carl Albert Saturday in Stillwater at Boone Pickens Stadium.

Beating the 10-time State Champs would be huge for East Central.  It would also be the Cards second championship. Their first since 2005.

"I think it would mean a whole lot to our school.  I think our school has been thrown through the mud a little bit." East Central Head Football Coach Bobby Klinck said, "I've told them the community is behind them and the community can get behind in a positive aspect.  I think these kids understand that and they want to win it for their community and their school."

The Cardinals and the Titans clash this Saturday at 7:30pm.
