LITTLE ROCK (Arkansas News Bureau) — The number of homes sold in Arkansas in October rose
nearly 6 percent compared to a year ago, the Arkansas Realtors
Association reported Tuesday, and the average price of homes climbed
more than 7 percent.
The association said 1,936 homes sold in the
43-county area it surveyed last month, compared to 1,829 in October
2011. The average price of a home rose to $157,267, compared to $145,959
a year ago.
For the year to date, Arkansas home sales were down
about 2.4 percent compared to the same time last year, while the average
price of homes sold was up 10.4 percent.
