Sad news as longtime KMOD radio personality, Phil Stone passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21.

Stone made up half of the longtime morning radio duo, Phil & Brent, which recently signed off the air after twenty-five years.

Phil & Brent were known for memorable characters like Roy D. Mercer, who was known for his humorous prank calls.

Former show co-host and friend Mary Moore, told Tulsa's Channel 8 that they were "good friends" and she was "deeply saddened" to learn of his passing.

Moore credits Stone with her ability to "handle any situation." She recalled a time when Stone took her to a charity dinner for his son's school. Moore said Stone didn't tell her she'd be the only "girl" there. Moore said Stone loved putting her in "awkward situations."

The cause of death has not been determined.

Look for more later on-air on Tulsa's Channel 8 and online at KTUL.com.
