Thankful for 100 Years

Posted: Updated:

On this Thanksgiving holiday, Channel 8's Burt Mummolo is thankful that his grandmother has made it to 100 years old.

Elvira Mummolo was born in 1912. A loaf of bread cost a nickel, Model T's were all the rage, and most famously, it was the year that the Titanic sank.

She was born in Italy and came to America in the early 50's. She was a seamstress and made wedding gowns for decades. She was married for 75 years to Francesco Mummolo, who passed away last year at the age of 98. They had four sons, and lived the American dream of hard work and success.

Today, she continues to cook her incredible Italian cuisine, and dotes on her 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Burt put together this video for her 100th birthday party.
