Sophomore forward Bernadett Balla scored a career high 26 points, but Oral Roberts University was beaten by Arkansas, 80-57, on Monday night at the Mabee Center. The loss drops ORU to 2-1 on the season.

Balla was 7-for-15 from the field and 12-for-13 from the free throw line. She matched her previous career high of 18 points in the first half alone, single-handedly keeping the Golden Eagles within striking distance.

Arkansas (3-0) was led by Quistelle Williams, who hit a career-high three three-point field goals and scored a team-high 17 points. Jhasmin Bowen added 13 points and a game-high 10 rebounds off the bench.

ORU hit seven of their first 14 shots but finished the game at 33.3% (18-for-54) from the field. The Razorbacks shot 47.6% (30-for-63), including 50.0% (11-for-22) from three-point range.

Seniors Kevi Luper and Jaci Bigham scored 10 points each for ORU, with Bigham adding five assists.

The Golden Eagles held serve early in the game, leading the opening stages of the first half. A three-pointer by Bigham, her first of the year, gave the home team a 16-11 edge at the 14:39 mark of the first half.

But Arkansas scored 11 straight to surge ahead, as an Erin Gatling three-ball put the Razorbacks up by a 22-16 count with 11:24 on the clock.

The Razorbacks took control by closing the half on a 14-4 run, giving them a 43-26 lead at the break. ORU missed 13 of their final 14 shots in the first half.

The visitors put the game away early in the second half with a 14-0 run. A Melissa Wolff jumper capped the spurt and gave Arkansas a 61-34 lead with 12:11 left to play.

The Arkansas lead would stay north of 20 points for the remainder of the game.

With the victory, Arkansas has now won 12 straight games against the Golden Eagles.
