Hollywood lost 16K jobs between 2004-2011 - KATV - Breaking News, Weather and Razorback Sports

(CNN) - It looks like Hollywood has some competition when it comes to the movie and TV business.

The LA Times reports a new study by the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation shows the county lost more than 16,000 film and TV jobs between 2004 and 2011.

The agency says most of the jobs went to other states that offer special tax breaks and incentives to the industry. The report found that during the same time period, New York added more than 14,000 jobs and  Georgia added 800.

Despite the losses, the study found the entertainment industry is still one of the largest businesses in the county's economy, employing 247,000 people in 2011.
