Central Arkansas meth trafficking investigation ends with 21 indictments

Posted: Updated:

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - An investigation into methamphetamine distribution in Central Arkansas lasting more than a year ended in 21 indictments.

The organization at the center of the investigation led by Tarik Bouhamidi of Austin, Ark., allegedly distributed more than 500 grams of meth between July 2011 and November 9, 2012. Investigators said in a press release Thursday Bouhamidi routinely traveled to Dallas, Texas to obtain large amounts of meth from a man named Johnny Ybarra. Bouhamidi would then
arrange for the drugs to be transported to Arkansas by hired couriers.

The investigation culminated with a November 6, 2012 indictment of Bouhamidi, Ybarra,
and 19 associates for various drug and weapons charges. Investigators seized more than $66,000 in cash, other miscellaneous assets valued at approximately $10,000, 2.5 pounds of methamphetamine, nine vehicles including two tractor-trailer rigs as well as two firearms.

Three suspects are still on the loose: Jeremy Putt of Benton, Brian Embry of Atkins and Scottie Sisney of Atkins. Anyone who has information on their whereabouts is asked to contact police immediately.
