CONWAY (Log Cabin Democrat) - Police say the man responsible for stealing a donation box
containing $50 from a Goodwill store at Sanders Street last week has
been identified.
Surveillance footage revealed the man took the box, located next to
the cash register, as a young child watched and while the cashier had
her back turned.
Officials said the man visited the store again on Tuesday to shop and was recognized by store employees.
The man reportedly admitted to taking the box and offered to pay the
$50 back. A female with the suspect at the time of the theft told police
she didn't know he had taken the donation box.
Police are not releasing the name of the suspect, as the case is
still under review and Goodwill employees are deciding whether to pursue
charges or to allow the man to pay the money back.
